Whats your thoughts on this 07 Rubicon
So, JKs of any type seem to go for a ton around here. Decent mile 07-08 Xs seem to go for 18-23k any time. So, I was looking around and saw this 07 Rubicon with ~40k miles. Then i saw the price. $28,900!!! No way I would pay that when a brand new Rubi goes for $35 (sticker) in my area. So I dismissed it pretty quickly. Well, this weekend the price on that same Rubi dropped to $23995. It has everything I'm looking for minus the hard top. I'm guessing I could probably get it for $21k. Of course, I wanted to see what the JK-Forum has to say on it. So, lets hear it. Thanks!
Of course, I would love to pick up a new JK, but that just isn't in the cards right now. And I still have to unload my 01 Bullitt before I can do anything at all. :(

Anyone else have have any thoughts or opinions?
A friend just bought an 07 Rubi w/6 speed and 33,000 miles for just under $23,000. It's very clean and from UT. He bought it in Tucson and is happy with the deal. Some, however, have said they had problems with the 07s (first model year). Whatever they were should have been resolved after 30,000 miless though.
Welp, went to take a look at it at lunch. Was already gone to auction. Oh well. Keeping my eye out for another one to pop up now. Doesn't have to be a Rubicon, but does have to be full power, 4dr, 4wd, auto with at least 3.73 gears. Keep your eye out for me. lol.

The price seems reasonable - although I'm sure there's room to negotiate. I'm sure many members here have bought like vehicles at various points in various regions at varying prices - a lot has to do with WHEN you bought it and the locale. Different regions have different demands, and the prices can vary. Also, had you bought this a year or so back when gas was $4+/gal, I'm sure this would've been a lot cheaper. Had you bought this around the time Chrysler was filing bankruptcy, it probably would've been a lot cheaper.
I say that to say this - if the price's comfortable to you, and you like the vehicle, and it checks out as far as not being abused, mechanically sound, carfax, etc. etc. etc., I'm sure you could negotiate with the dealer and make a deal. I'd take a look around your region - see what other dealers around the vicinity have and how they're priced. Also, check the Jeep Recycler to see if anyone in your neck of the woods has one on the forum for sale too
