Default Superchips users...did you change the temp the fan comes on at?

Trans cooler is going in this weekend. I almost bought the cooler with a built in fan,but decided that I'd just try the superchips setting where you can have the fan come on earlier than the factory setting of about 212°.

IIRC 175° is where the fan on the B&M cooler kicks on. Any reason I shouldn't lower the factory setting down to the same 175°?

If I remember correctly, I tried this on mine, and it threw a CEL because the computer thought there was something wrong with the fan.
That was about a year ago, so I don't remember exactly what it did. But I do remember I ended up putting it back to the stock fan setting.

Anyone know where the CEL threshhold is?

I got the check engine light also and I think I originally dropped the temperature down 10 degress. I went back to stock but I also have a tranny cooler now.

I dropped mine somewhere around 10 degrees or so and no CEL light on, so I would maybe trial and error it 5 degree's at a time, starting at about 200 degrees F.
