Default 35 1250 17 or 18 Mud terrain tires needed, long life and low noise 99% street driven

Federal MT tires 35 1250 17 or 18 priced under $875 installed.

Looking for a road worthy argressive looking tire tire for michigan winters.
Others that are considered are.

Kumo MT KL 71
Procomp MT
Yokahama MT
Cooper discoverer STT
Good year MTR or Dura tracks

Nitto Mud Grappler looks nice but I am told very noisy?

Also what wheel type, brand, or finish can tolarate Michigans road salt?

Duratracs all the way!
Get them online from tirerack, and then get yourself some dynabeads. They're very quiet, very responsive, and aggressive enough for any terrain.

I have always been a fan of Toyo M/T. You pay for what you get but the 37's held up great on my last JK and had over 20K on them when I got rid of the Jeep. They still had alot of tread, aggresive and reliable, and seemed very quite to me for the type of tread it had.,

BF Goodrich KM2's are pretty quite on the road.

I had those Kumho's on a dodge truck and they were very quiet, The truck was diesel though

Toyos suck on ice, BFG MT's suck in snow and on ice.

The duratracs are severe weather rated and I can vouch for them powering a diesel dually through canadian winters in 2wd with little problems.

I vote for duratracs.

Dynabeads are an internal balancing system. I didnt need them on my dually and thats with 4 tires on one axle. No balancing issues there.

If you want a tire that does well in snow and is more than aggressive in appearance, pick one from this list... None will disappoint, especially compared to mud terrains in snow.

Cooper S/T
Goodyear Duratracs
Kelly TSRs
Cepek F-C II
Mickey Thompson ATZ
Dunlop Maxx Traction
Nitto Terra Grappler AT

In order of price, beginning with least expensive:
Kelly TSRs
Cooper S/T
Dunlop Maxx Traction
Nitto Terra Grappler AT
Goodyear Duratracs
Cepek F-C II
Mickey Thompson ATZ

Default Xtreme Mud Terrains

Super happy... second set. Did great in snow last winter. No problems in heavy rain.

Key is to rotate every 5K miles. On my 4th rotation with this set and very quiet.

Got about 35K miles on my last set.

Highly recommend.

Have the nitto Trail Grapplers and love them. Not the a/t terra or the m/t mud but somewhere in between. One of the top 3 sidewalls I've seen. However for road/snow you prob want an A/T..

I have the Cooper STTs on 17s... very nice ride and very quiet! I would buy them again.

If you want something quiet you don't want the Mud Grapplers, I had them before and they were very noisy!
