Default 35" Tire Carrier

I have just installed 35" Open Countries on my 2008 JK. I haven't installed the spare tire yet. What is the least expensive way to support the added weight until I can purchase a more robust rear bumper with carrier?

so long as you have the right back spacing, you should be able to carry a 35" on your spare tire carrier. if you don't have the right back spacing, you can install a wheel spacer or buy a relocation/spacer bracket like the kind teraflex makes. just be aware that you need to make sure your spare tire's sidewalls are making full contact with the rubber isolators. if they are not, get some daystar isolator extensions and install them. they will help prevent your spare from jiggling which ultimately is causes your mount and or tailgate to fail prematurely.

My spare was on my tailgate for 6 months with no issue, but no hard offroading either. I now have the smittybilt bumper/carrier combo although I really wanted the River Raider rear stinger.

I run 35's on my stock tailgate with no problem...I use an adapter to push the tire out a little though.

Here's a pic...
