Question about pieced together 4-5" lift
Sorry if this has been covered as im sure it has, i remember reading something similiar in the past.
I have a 2.5 budget boost on my jku. I removed the front spacers and replaced with ome hd springs to hold the winch and bumper, but i am still using the spacers in the rear. Also replaced the front sway bar links with adjustable ones. I have since regeared to 5.13s. My 35s are about to need to be replaced and i want to go to 37s.
To gain the tire clearance i plan on:
1. I will reinstall the spacers in front
2. Install matching set of ome springs for the rear
3. Install adjustable track bar in front
4. Install adjustable track bar in rear
5. new shocks
6. extended sway bar links in the rear
7. extend brake lines
Now for my questions.
1. What about control arms? Do i need both or can i get away with just uppers
2. Will the stock shafts manage for awhile?
3. What else am i forgetting?

at the 5.5" height you will be at, i personally would recommend both upper and lower control arms as the lowers will allow you to re-position your axles and the uppers will allow you to set your caster and pinion angles. with that much lift, i would also recommend getting a track bar relocation bracket and dropped pitman arm or draglink flip up front and a relocation bracket in the rear - this will help to restore their geometry closer to stock and provide better handling. you will also need longer brake lines and shocks. being that you have a 6-speed and an unlimited, your stock drive shafts will be okay for a while. aside from that, i would recommend that you install taller bump stop extensions and or trim your factory fenders and pinch seam.
with 5.5" of lift, your axles will sit closer to each other. in the rear, this will cause your tires to hit your pinch seam and inner fenders pretty good. up front, it will cause a lot of tire rub on the frame and control arms at a turn.
