Question SC, avoiding the pinging before install

I have searched a lot and it seems the common cure for these pinging issues is to run your JK on the "tow tune" with 91 or higher octance, is this a wise choice? or should I still try a performance tune and see what happens?

also if I am too add a intake after this tune should I re-tune so the PCM re-learns again with the add on?

Thanks for the help!

Regardless of your tune level, moving up one grade (unless your running the 93 tune, in which case you would need an octane booster) should take care of pinging.
