I don't have any pics, but if you snap the plastic keeper like I did last Sunday, in the trails, you can shift it by hand and then go to the dealer and buy a new one.
I found out that the the clip costs around $0.40, so I bought up all 7 that they had in stock and threw them in the Jeep for whoever is with me, or if I need another one.
It is an was fix if you have them, but sucks if you don't and need one.

I think a zip tie might hang up the linkage though. just my 2 cents though.

The zip-tie is a very successful temporary fix.

Really? I bought a couple extra spares as well a couple weeks ago when that happened to me but I'd like to make it more resistant to breaking.

I went ahead and did mine with the idea that it would suck having to climb under the Jeep on the trail.

More of a preventive measure.

The clip on the Jeep can break pretty easily when you're shifting your transfer case. When it breaks, that disconnects your shift leaver from the transfer case, leaving you stuck in whatever gearing. If that happens to be neutral, you aren't going anywhere until you do something about it (at least without a tow!).

I zip tied mine a year ago and have not had any breakages. I think the zip tie prevents excessive movement of the clip.

It's not so much a mod, as a field repair.

I guess if installed as a mod, it may prevent failure of the plastic bushing. However, the zip-tie is vulnerable to the same environmentally caused degradation as the plastic bushing.

A nylon zip tie will eventually get brittle and break as well. If you are looking for a better option a stainless steel tywrap would last much longer. It would have been nice if Jeep skipped this part to make plastic A nickle more they could have fixed this
