Default I need help please, stuck on an install

So I'm putting some rock rails on my Jeep and for the life of me can't not get them to line up so be bolted on. They are mopar rails, like the stock rubi rails with tubes. So other poeple that have taken off/installed these maybe had the same issues?
The problem is that the back bracket to be bolted onto the frame seems to be bent up at an odd angle and therefor I can't put the smaller screws from the rails through the holes in the pinch seam. Both rails are bent at the same angle so I don't know if it's a mistake or supposed to be and I'm just missing something. The box was beaten up appon arrival.

That is supposed to the different angle of the front and back brackets.

Help. Thanks!

Well thats what I was thinking. But I was wondering if their supposed to be bent like that? Tried to bend them but that metal is pretty tough...

Okay so I'm deciding to bend them. Anyone have ideas on how to actually bend that steel? Anything to make it easier?

I have a set of sahara steps and 2 sets of rubi rails, none are bent like you indicate yours are. Something new for 2010/11?

There are some install docs with pics on a few of the mopar rails and steps on quadratec:

The front bracket is complety flat with the screws that go with the pinch seam and the back bracket is a good 20 degree angle up. I tried beating them with a hammer and bending with a set of pliers with no luck. I don't have a torch and I'm slightly worried that if I ruin them and still cant get them to fit that the manufacturer won't take them back for an exchange. So it will have to wait until Monday to call them and see if I can get a new set. Waited four and a half weeks for rails that wont fit. Soooo frustrating. Thanks for confirming that the angle does seem incorrect!

I discovered when I tried to put on Rugged Ridge side steps that the pinch seem holes are in different places for the 09 then the 07/08.

I don't know if they are different for every year or what.

When I installed my oem rubi rock rails there was tape that had been painted the same color as the body over some of the holes that I had to use to mount the rails.

Mine were covered with a black foam piece. Not tottaly sure what for but I sat there a good 10 minutes looking for that hole! Nothing in the terrible install instructions about that!
