Default Discount Tire Sucks!

So I ordered my tires and wheels 11 days ago and put $500 down. Havent heard from them so today at 10am I call the store and the guy says,"oh ya, there here you can come in today." I leave work an hour early and make the long drive home. I call them to say Im coming while Im on the road. Get there and after I write the check for the balance the guy behind the counter tells me the stuff isnt in. I tell him I talked to Bill, Bill tells him he didnt talk to me, I wonder outloud how I knew a guy named Bill worked there. Long story short, 4 tires are supposedly getting there tomorrow and one is on backorder; and my wheels werent even ordered!!!!!Im pissed. So supposedly hes gonna get it all in by Friday and his fix is to knockoff the install kit. What like $30 or so. And here I thought they were on the ball. But atleast I was 7 for seven on waves: but then again I did see a 4door Red Rock on like 30" wheels etc Thank God he didnt see me-doesnt go toward my wave back percentage

I wouldn't say Discount Tire sucks, it sounds like the person/people that work in the store you are dealing with are the ones that suck. Heck, I ordered my tires from them on a Thursday, and received them via UPS the next day !

What the heck is an "install kit?" Sounds like a mark-up to me.

The rep is from DTDirect...which is a different division of the same company. I think the operate as their own "store", but he should definitely hear this.

The problem is the store and its employees are a reflection of the entire company. And one bad experience is enough for me. More important than price is some respect as a customer. Of which I got none. I left my job and my crew of 9 guys to go on this wild goose chase. It is a real joke. Oh and the 'install kit' is called a Gorilla Wheel Install Kit on the reciept and is $30 whopping dollars! And apparently it is the valve stems, lugs etc. The $30 not coming close to even covering an hours wages let alone the travel, gas etc. Im done. Getting my money back and giving it to someone that wants it.

bsack, you might want to check out 4 Wheel Parts store. I think there's one in Tacoma. Well, I guess it's store to store, and I don't know how they are in Tacoma store, but the 4 Wheel Parts store in Lynnwood (near Alderwood Mall) is great. They've got tons of 35's and 37's M/T tires in stock (BFG, Goodyear, Pro Comp, Super Swamper, Mickey Thompson etc.). I just got the tires and rims from them (pics at My.Project-JK Gallery). They didn't have the rims and the 5th tire I wanted in stock. So, they ordered them and got them in 2 days. The customer serive is great at Lynnwood store.

good for you! it might not matter to them because they're only losing 1 customer, but I'm sure it feels good to you personally to let your wallet do the talking and stick it to them.
