I have been torn between whether I should get a Sahara VS a Rubi for some time now. I have a thread started on this one as well. That aside here is another question.

Will there be a diesel version coming. I don't think it will be the same diesel version/engine there is over seas and that it is a matter of time but just how much time. There are the new pick-ups from Chrysler/Dodge with the new blu-tech diesel just out meeting the new low sulfer low emission standards, why not the JK too. Both VW and Mercedes are releasing new diesels as well. All with the new generation engines. So when do we get our wish.

I would certainly perfer the diesel version and would run to place my order if it were available.

Does anyone have any real information to post.

The new issue of JP magazine says that there will be a diesel JK in '09, but they are purely speculating on engine size. With all the technology of new diesel engines, I'm sure it is just a matter of time.

 

I hope thats a release in Summer/Fall of 2008 as a 2009 model as I don't want to wait much longer that point. I know its just a matter of time but how much time...Got all my fingers crossed for mid 2008 as a 2009 model. I'd drop a deposit on one today if I could. Regardless of the specs and options not being determined yet. I just want a diesel and I am sure Jeep wont mess with the JK in a negative way. The truck is just perfect and will always remain the icon that it is.

it's always been either X or Rubicon for me personally. unless one is particularly batty about painted fender flares, sahara just doesn't make sense to me.
