Default A Hail Mary!

Putting on my N-Fab Door-to-Door Side Steps on Unlimited. The kit came with 5/16" ANSI bolts. These are fine, except for one place. On the under side supports below the rear doors, there is a threaded insert for the stock support to be secured. My steps line up with this insert, but it is definitely not threaded for a 5/16" bolt. It's probably metric. Does anyone know what bolt this insert is threaded for? Thanks.

I believe they are M8 x 1.25 x 30mm long.

I was just reading the install directions for the OR-Fab sliders and it makes mention of having to cut off that nut. May have to do the same thing for the N-Fabs, which is another step/rail I was considering. Be sure to post up pics when you get them on.

I just tapped that hole when I installed mine. I also didn't drill the pinch seam like they wanted. Didn't make sense to remove that much material that close together. They hold me (300 lbs) no problem.

I really like them, but the fit leaves alot to be desired. I had to draw my pinch seam in a few places to make them fit.

Thanks for the info on the thread size. Buying a new bolt will be the first option, retapping second & cutting off the insert is out of the question.

A bigs thanks on saying you didn't drill out the second set if holes on the pinch. Haven't decided wether I will or won't, bit I'm glad to hear someone else didn't & it turned out fine.
