I was just wondering if the front drive shaft still moves when the 4wd is not engaged? It may be a dumb question but I had to ask. The reason being I know mine is starting to fail as the cv boot is leaking. The angle is extreme from the 3.5" lift. I noticed some issues with the driveline a few months after the install. Can this cause binding and possible bucking motion when in first and second at low speeds and take off?
Yes, the front axleshafts, gears, driveshaft all move in 2wd, they are just not powered until you go into 4wd. Grab a wrench and pull that shaft off. It will help you diagnose the problem, and you don't want it seizing, especially at freeway speeds.

Well, I removed the front DS and the front U joint is solid with no play whatsoever. The back cv joint is leaking a tad bit from the boot but nothing excess. This also seems solid. Drove for a bit w/o DS and was able to reproduce the bucking action. Had a friend come over and he check the play in my front DS. He can rotate back and forth and you can see my right axel u joint making noise and excessive play. Can this be The cause?
