I was reading on a different post that someone had removed the rear sway bar link's and the ride didn't change much. I know that some older jeep's people ran without them. Anyone else running this on a 4 door? How is the ride on-road?
The rear one is so much thinner that it has no effect on flex as long as the front is free. You won't gain anything by removing it or disconnecting it and you will end up with the stability system setting a fault code most likely if you take a corner a little too fast.
We get some winds around here that are so bad that one day mine set a fault code from all the swaying the wind was causing on the way home from work. It was making the Jeep rock and twist in weird ways and I guess the system didn't like what is was seeing. Luckly the next day with the winds gone after two driving cycles it reset itself.

I would not do it. That said as long as you had your front swaybar connected the Jeep would be biased towards understeer on the road. But with more body roll in the rear possibly dangerous when avoiding a colision.
I did it for three days...if you go around a corner too sharp, the ESC goes off. Just be careful and you'll be fine no matter what anyone says. Yes its be less stable at high speed maneuvers, but isn't that a rare occasion in a Jeep?
I added some JKS adjustable ones and put a small bend in them to clear the axle (Rancho recommended grinding the axle mount for clear and I didn't like that idea)

My 95 jeep Cherokee came with NO rear sway bar from the factory, that was part of the off-road suspension package it had. Seemed to drive just fine. I wouldn't remove mine but with how soft the stock one is on the jeep I doubt you would really notice it gone. It doesn't limit flex much.
While you can remove them, I'd say on a full time basis its a bad idea and gains you nothing. The sway bar transfers weight to the inside wheel. The springs really flex. A thick front sway bar and no rear sway bar means the jeep gets tail happy.
We rock crawl the Rockies with the front disconnected and the rear sway bar never prevents the axle from full flex on either end.
Older jeeps had such stiff springs that removing the rear sway bar might have let it flex more. You have coils, they had leaf springs.
