yet another noise diagnosis....help please
Ok, yesterday I took off my front upper control arms and readjusted to stock length approx. (18 7/8") I then took off oem front lowers and replaced with adjustables to 23". Caster is about 5 and 4.5. Drives fine. I am just getting a popping noise when I slow to a stop and then again when I take off. I am guessing that somehow I have pinched a bushing during the install. I wouldn't know how. I did the work with the jeep on the ground. I did use a jack to roll the axle on the uppers, don't think that I used it on the lowers. Take a listen to the video and let me know if anything pops out before I get under the jeep and redo all the work i did yesterday! Thanks

check to see if all your snap rings are still in place on the johnny joints. I've had em pop out if they were not in deep enough before installation and it made a similar noise.
on second thought, if it's a popping noise that wouldn't make sense... worth a check, but after thinking about it, I think it's not the issue.

Have you changed out your driveshaft? At 4.5 or 5* you have more caster than stock. This means your pinion angle is worse than stock and possibly binding at the pinion to DS joint.
stock driveshaft. Are you saying that I need to reduce caster? I was at 6 and 5.5 before i changed things and there was no popping.
I question where you're getting your measurements. 6* with a lift should wipe out your DS quickly. Factory caster is 4*. To get a good DS angle with a lift you'll be at about 2* or worse.

If you check the pic below you'll see that there isn't a way to get an accurate measurement off of the end forging itself. If you could check a stock rig at the same area of the 'C', you could compare the measurements. Let's say your measurement is 6* and the stock rig measures 8*. Since we know that a stock rig has 4* of caster we could conclude that you have 2*. Does this make sense?

Nothing glaring.
I'd get the front end up on jack stands and turn both front tires at the same time, by hand, and see if you can duplicate the noise. Your video shows the noise at very low speeds so you may be able to find it by hand.
While the tires are off the ground you'll also be able to check the hub bearings (aka unit bearing). Is your camber visibly off?
