Default Anyone unhappy with a DIY tub bedliner job?

Been reading lots of satisified stories about DIY tub lining with bed liner, but not seeing too much that is bad. As I consider doing this myself, I am wondering if it will last good.

Now that people have had this in place for a year or two or more, is there anyone that is unhappy with it, or have had problems with it peeling or other issues? I would really like to hear details from anyone (if there is anyone) that is unhappy.

Also, if I were to do mine in stages, like the cargo area first (to get my toes wet), would I run into issues of it looking or working bad at the joint/line between the first part I did and the second part?

Thanks for any input!

I did my '93 Wrangler and didn't have any problems. I used the rustoleum bedliner though. If I do it again I'll probably go with something a little thicker like rhino-liner or something. It takes a LOT of prep work and removing everything is a hassle but it's worth it in the end.

Not sure about doing it in pieces. I imagine you would be fine though. If you noticed any big difference you could always sand the seam and thin coat it to even it out.

The only thing bad is the prep work. I did it myself with raptor liner and it turned out great. Its nice being able to just hose out the jeep now. If your doing it yourself go with the raptor liner as i think its the most professional looking. Ive had people comment that it looks just like lin x

x2 on the Raptor liner. I used that on my 87 YJ and it turned out great. I bought mine in a kit and it came with a spray gun and everything. I would recommend going with a spray in DIY kit instead of a roll on it looks way better when finished!!

Did my xj and I loved how it held up over time. Only flaw that it has over carpet, is when it gets a little mud (on black bedliner) it stands out way easier than on carpet. The brightside to that was easy clean up., I used duplicolor in that vehicle. If I do my jk, I'm using raptor liner this time around.

IDK karl. Not all rattle can liners are made equal. I just picked up a rattle can of duplicolor bed armor to paint my bumper and it is pretty thick and bulky. It seems like it would really hold up well over time. Now with that being said, I would never paint my tub with rustoleum bedliner or the regular duplicolor bed liner.

Very unhappy with my duplicolor bed armor. I probably didn't scuff enough. Some spots can be scratched with my nail. I'll just get a better set up next summer
