Default 08 Rubi 4dr Lift

Okay…noob question.

I have traversed this forum (which is great) and others. Read many different threads, post, and opinions…and now I have a question for my own personal ‘self-indulgence’.

I have a 2008 Rubi 4dr w/auto tran. Daily driver. Stock.
I have a RR XHD front winch bumper on order…and an Engo 9000lb winch also.

I try to get out every weekend for a few hours of moderate trail runs that can feature everything from snow to boulders (but not rock crawlin).

I am looking for a lift of about 3” to 4”. I understand the whole, “anything over 3” and you ‘SHOULD’ replace your front ds”. I plan on running 35’s for a while and then possible 37’s…depending on the wheeling I get into. I will be changing out the gears next spring to either 4.88 or 5.13.

I have a list of the lifts that I can currently get (I know there are better/worst ones out there but these are my choices at this time).

I would love to have some viewers opinions on these kits, good or bad, and why so, if possible. Also, what extras might be needed?

I really appreciate this…and all the other post on here.

Choices:
Black Diamond 3”
Superlift 4" Standard Lift System
Tuff Country 4” EZ-Flex Performance Kit
Rough Country 4" X-series Kit
Rough Country 4" Suspension Kit
SkyJacker 4” JK401 system

Might not be the best kits but it is what I have to work with…your best opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Chris

What is a Noob?

All the lifts you have mentioned are good lifts and if you have searched on the forum you'll know guys are using Teraflex, Rusty's, Full Traction, Evo and Rock Krawlerto mention a few that didn't make your "short" list and I feel should be included.

You go to a 4" lift and you'll need a front driveshaft a lot sooner then later.

If I had to choose from your list, Rough Country X would be my choice. Complete kit. Good luck and being a Newb is cool too.

@Jeep2007

Thanks for the reply (noob, newb...all the same).

Agreed with adding to the list but those are not available to me at this time, hence the list I have. I would go with the Rancho 4" LA system as my dad has that on his 09 Rubi 4dr and there has been nothing he hasn't been able to tackle with that...plus the ride on the street is better than stock.

The Rough Country X is on my top 3 and just might make it on the Jeep in a couple of weeks.

Again...thanks!

Interesting...I guess everyone must be tired of giving their opinions on this question after all.

Would really appreciate some more feedback from all of you.

Thanks!

Me and my friend just installed a rustys advanced lift of 3.25 inches. I think its a great lift with the adjustable trackbars and control arms to align everything correctly

I ran the Superlift 4in for a year, descent kit with the bilstein shocks but the springs sag under heavy bumpers and or loaded down. The Superlift trackbar was a pos, I sold the lift to a friend of mine on here and it fell apart(trackbar) after he had it for maybe 6mos.

I run a Teraflex 4in now, couldn't be happier.

Btw, the Black Diamond kit is made by Superlift, just a different sticker.

The lifts you suggest are lower priced. I do not run, and have not owned any of the brands you suggest. You'll find that many people on the board will pimp what they own as the "best".

The x factor lift is the one I'd select.

I run 5.13 gears with my 38's. I ran the same gears with 37's. Have fun with your build!

Default 08 Rubi 4dr lift

I have been running a AEV 3.5" lift for 1year now and have done 20000 miles without any problem. Speed limit is higher in South Africa and AEV is stable at over 100 mph. Best lift I have ever installed.

Here are pictures of my 08 . It is a auto and a daily driver . I have a 4.5 bds lift with 315 mickey Thompson,RR XHD front winch bumper with a warm 8000 winch. I love driving it more after it was lifted than when it was stock. . I have 21000 miles on it.
