Default has anyone switched out to Ram 2500 axles.

I'm thinking it would be cheaper than Dynatrac 60's?

FYI, newer HD Dodge axles are not Dana. They're AAM.

Yes From 2003 on up the 25 and 3500 series ram started using American Axle.

From 2002 down to 1994 the Dana "80" is usually found in the rear of 3500 series rigs. In 2500 series trucks equipped with the CUMMINS is a Dana "70" and all use a Dana 60 front axle assembly. The Gas v8 2500's are NOT the same axle setups.

Dana 60 Front Axle (248FBI) are found in the 25 and 3500 series trucks and have a "0.50 Tube thickness , a 9.75 in Ring gear, 30 Spline, 1.31" diameter (inner) 1.34" (outer) axle shafts (32 Spline on 1998+ models)

Dana 80 Rear Axle (286RBI) Again are found in 3500 series trucks from the same years and feature an 11.25" ring gear, 35 Spline, 1.50" diameter axle Shafts inside 4" axle tubes, "0.563 Tube wall thickness.

Dana 60 Rear Axle (248RBI) Are found in Gas v8 Rams and have a 9.75" Ring gear, and vary in spline count and shaft usage however, 1997+ is the best bet with I believe 35 spline shafts.

I have a Dana 80 and 60 ready to go in the Jeep ... they just gotta come out of my Dodge in 10 years LOL

A set of PowerWagon axles (with lockers) are pretty darned reasonably priced. They're not as HD as the diesel's, but they're a good buy @ <$8000/pair.
