Default 315/70/17 Duratrac Tread Width?

Can someone that has the 315/70/17 Duratrac go measure the actual tread width of what actually rides on the road and post it here? I have been searching but can't seem to find it anywhere on the net. I am trying to calculate the correct backspacing so that the tread is covered by fenders due to laws.

Thanks

It should be listed on Goodyear's website.

You would think but I have yet to find it. I see the section width as 12.7 but nothing about tread width listed on there.

I googled tire width and tried the first hit (see web address below).

Here are the results of a 315/70/17 tire.

I can not verify the results. I am sure someone else knows for sure.

Some of it depends on your rim width as well. If you run a 9 in wide rim you will see a wider footprint but not as tall tire. My buddy has them in a 315/70/17 on MT Sidebiters and his are way wider than mine, which are on stock rims. But as stated earlier my tires are taller.

Yeah the calculators give the section width but not the actual tread width. The tread width shouldn't change I wouldn't think with different rim widths but maybe it does. I know it affects height and how much it bulges out on the sidewalls but the tread lugs are molded into the tire.

I'll measure mine when I get home. I mounted them on the stock Rubicon wheels.

I am looking for this measurement highlighted by red lines:

It appears to be smaller than the section width but maybe I am mistaken. I need to measure what actually rides on the pavement not the total width of the tire.
