Is there anyone that likes to keep their jeeps stock. Is this a lost art or am I a loyal jeep fan?

My Jeep is stock, except for tires and rear bumper... for now. My last Jeep TJ was lifted, but after a back injury, knee injury and baby, I decided to wait on the lift for my current Jeep. I think its hard to find completely stock Jeeps, since most people add a little something.

I've kept many of my Jeeps stock and wheeled where I wanted to successfully.

This Jeep I decided ai wanted to mod it but waited 18 months before doing anything.

What is your definition of a loyal jeep fan? Because you don't want to modify yours and make it "yours" means you are Loyal?

I had a YJ that was mostly stock but I found I was getting stuck a lot and scraping rocks all the time. That's okay though, cause I was loyal? Adding disconnects and slightly bigger tires solved many of my problems but I was no longer loyal?

What defines stock. If you buy the sport with little tires and upgrade to the stock rubicon wheels and tires are you still stock or no longer stock but modified?

Mine's stock. If it wasn't for the internet it would probably remain as such, but because of it, it'll eventually be modified. I'm in no hurry though.

One could also argue that the people with mod-madness are the loyal Jeep fans. As usual, depends on point of view.

The stocker will not go through some terrain people want to wheel without incurring damage.

And some (like me) envy the looks of a lifted Jeep on tall tires, even if it never leaves the pavement.

It does not really matter, its your Jeep.

My 2011 Sport Unlimited is stock except for a drop-in K&N air filter, and I expect it'll stay that way. It'll see plenty of utilitarian use on and off road, especially during the Colorado winter, and camping, fishing and hunting trips. Rock crawling isn't my game, though, so I've no need or wish to spend thousands of dollars on suspension mods, gearing, wheels and tires.

Loyal in this case would imply that you only use factory Jeep accessories and lifts etc...

You can buy lift kits, Electric sway bar disconnects, rock rails, bumpers, and skid plate from Jeep Mopar. Most of these add-ons or accessories are not designed by the Jeep engineers but have been studied and fit/functionally checked by them. Therefore they sign an agreement with the manufacturer to call them original equipment parts. They will service these parts. These parts will not void your warranty.

Sorry for offending you duneslider. I need to have my lawyer proofread my post from now on.

Really!! I am a US Marine so I am very well versed in loyalty. However the parts that you say are engineered from mopar and tested in my opinion are junk. Mopar builds the cheapest they can to make as much as can. I am sure their mods are better then their stock equipment. However they are still not near as strong as most of the aftermarket lifts. No matter what anyone has to say I am a loyal jeeper and will mod my Jeep so it is as durable as I can make it.
