don't see any reason why it can't be done but, i don't think there's any kit out there that will make this simple and, you will need to cut your bumper in order to do it right.

well, I found a bolt on stinger. so I'm thinking I should just be able to bolt it onto my factory bumper no problem.

Your factory bumper is cheap plastic over a very flimsy metal insert.

Bolting a stinger to it would cause it to fold up like crepe paper in a hurricane if you ever put any presure on it at all.

You could add a stinger but it would need to be bolted to or welded to the frame in some fashion, not the factory bumper.

would it be that bad to bolt the stinger to the factory tow hook mounting points? I mean theyre attached to the rails, and if theyre strong enough to be recovery rated, they cant be that bad for adding a stinger to, right?

i dont see why not. It would need to be tied in somehow. Simply bolting it to the plastic would be dangerous.

Ah, Thats a good idea.

I'll take a look at that tonight and see if I can weld a piece of steel between the 2 tow hooks.

in my mind, you would take off the plastic, remove the tow hooks, attach the stinger to the tow hook mounting position, and figure out where to cut the plastic to allow it to work with the stinger, then reassemble everything

I agree. If you planned it out right and took some time trimming the factory bumper to fit, It could turn out pretty nice.
