Default Biggest tire size

I know this is a super noob question, but I am trying to find out if I can run 33's on my 18in stock 2012 Sahara wheels with just a spidertrax 1.5 in wheel spacer? I am keeping this as my daily driver and I do not want to take it out to the mud much( 3-4 times a year) so I don't want anything too excessive.

Should be fine even without spacers depending on the width. No lift required. Lots of discussion topics u can search on this topic. Also, check the sticky in the modified jk tech for lots of good info for us noobies.

Just slap the 33's on and do nothing else. The stock setup will accommodate 33's all day long

Just check your prices -- Getting 33" tires for 18" stock rims might be the same price as 15" or 16" tires and aftermarket rims. Even though they're all 33" tires, the larger the rim, the more the tire costs.

Alright, I'll look into that, I really like the jeep stock wheels though. I was thinking about powder coating them. But it seems like emit would e more beneficial in the long run to go with some 16's or 17's.

I also have 18" and I powder coated them I wanted to go 35" on my stock wheels, but after some research I also noticed that it would be the same price (35" on 18") as (35" on 15" with aftermarket wheels!) So I went with the 15" and when going off road it's much better, less wheel to scratch.

I think the rubicon tires are 32.5 stock anyways. As long as they are not super wide, you will have no problem putting 33s on.

May be easier and cheaper just to look for a set of Rubicon take offs.

Not sure where you're located but there are some in the wheel & tire for sale section. Not mine, just noticed them a few days ago...

If they are true 33" tires, you may need spacers depending on width of tire and what rim you are running. Also, you may need to trim rear pinch seam so you dont rub while flexing...

What would you consider a true 33"?

My config:

Rim Size: 16 X 8
Backspacing: 4.5"

Tires: 33" BFG AT KO
Size: 285 X 75 X 16

When I type the tire size into a 'tire size calculator' it comes out to 32.9", so I'm assuming that wouldn't be a considered a true 33"?

So far I have had no rubbing at all even when at full turn. I haven't gone off road yet though.
