Default anyone with a Warn 9.5XP...mounting pictures, please...

i'm wanting to see where you have the solenoid mounted. hopefully someone will post some close-up pics showing the proper was to mount it to the winch itself, but

i'm also looking to see if anyone mounted it in a remote position....how did you extend the wires, (what do you use to splice in wires that large?) and where did you run the wiring and where did you mount the solenoid?

i just have my solenoid mounted like this, and i don't like it. the entire rest of the winch is completely hidden in the bumper, but the solenoid sticks up and out like a sore thumb. i'm not sure i have it mounted in the correct position that it was designed for anyway, but i'd still like to get it off of the bumper.
here is how mine is mounted:

what is wrong with it? does anyone have the solenoid mounted differently?

you can see from this pic, that the warn 9.5xp sits completely below the top edge of the shrockworks mid-with bumper. it's just the solenoid that stick out like a sore thumb.

Many people mount there solenoid box under the hood with longer cables to the winch.

You intallation looks really clean. Any more pictures available of the install?

I would possibly mount the solenoid box right where it is, but face the big W towards the front - kind of old school.

If you want to hide it, remove the three wires that connect the solenoid box to the winch. Be sure to mark what goes where before removing them. Take them up to a good auto parts store like Napa. They can make you longer ones with crimped ends. Find a spot for the solenoid box under the hood, and get the new wires long enough to reach there. You'll have to pop the hood to winch, but that's no big deal.
