Default ga ga Gears

Seeking some input from the forum again.

I'm do intend on putting 35s on my jeep and regearing. Would there be any problems with regearing first and using the stock 32s for a while?

thanks... happy turkey day soon!

Do you have an Auto or Manual trans?

what gears are you planning on running 4.88's or 5.13's or what?

You can re-gear now, but you will be a little low, so higher speeds you'll be at higher RPM's.

It would not hurt anything to re-gear first.

You will love the gears! Yeah, I say go ahead and get the gears if you are planning on getting the tires soon. and you are not planning any long 80 MPH + driving, haha...

mine with 5.13's and an manual is over 3k rpms at 70... but the JK shakes like crazy at around that speed anyway, so I don't drive that fast much.

What is the downside if I routinely drive at 80 with 35s? Do you recommend 4.88 or 5.13.

Consensus on the forum after reading a billion threads is for an auto with 35s is 5.13, manual for 4.88. But go with 5.13 for an apparent power increase/surge

That's pretty much what most people have said, although I love the 5.13's with my manual and 35"s. I could do 80, i'd probably be close to 3,500 rpms though, but I could do it, if my jeep didn't shake like mad at 70

Have you figured out what the shaking issue is? Mine could do 70-80 and doesn't shake w/auto... can't imagine a manual would make it shake. Do you have a pinion angle problem or other driveline issue?

I think mine is more the tires maybe? mine never seem to be balanced smoothly and my steering is nasty. even stock i had mad play in my steering wheel.
