Default Hypertech Max Power

I did a search and did not find any posts on this. I was just looking through 4WD Hardwares website and found the Hypertech Max Power. Just thought I would share. $379.99 isn't bad for a programer that lets you change your gear and tire settings along with adding power.

Project-JK did an interview with these guys and posted it in our ongoing SEMA coverage. They talk about some pretty hefty gains... You can find it here:

Cool, I was wondering if Hypertech was gonna do something. I had a Hypertech programmer for my '02 Sierra and was very impressed with it.

Eddie should've just punched the Real Wheels guy, that jeep is fugly.

Back on topic, I wonder how accurate the Hypertech power claim is. It's sounds pretty good, well worth the price if accurate.

I'm not really familiar with these programmers but, how effective are they with manual transmissions?

Doojer, thanks for the link, I figured someone had a topic on it. I am pretty happy about this, I had the Jet II on my 2000 Silverado 4.3 v-6 5 spd had a pretty good gain, but you were stuck with 91 or better at the pump. I swapped it out for Hypertech when I went with a different tire size and still had the gains in power and with the ability to change gearing and tire size and also could run 87 octane if I wanted to.

Interesting on the video the guy from Hypertech admitted that they were having problems with using the programer on the X model. Don't know what is different, but I got one and returned it because I couldn't get it to work on my 07 X with an Automatic trans.

That is wierd, I would think that all the tuning would be the same for the engine and tranny.

Default Shifting Pattern

I went conservative with my everday drive unlimited X and only put 285 bfg km2 on 17 inch wheels, and was told by local dealer that I was outside the range for my vehicles shift pattern. When I asked what I could do about that was told I had to suffer the consequences of having larger tires. Does having a programmer alter any warranties or repair concerns? Joe
