Default New wheel and tire combo for 2012 need help...

So after 3 years with my current wheel and tire setup I've decided to go with something else for 2012. I'm currently running 20x10 KMC Rockstars and 35" Nitto Muddies (yes I know everyone and their mama has/had this combo) but it was the combo to get back when I first got my Jeep. I love the looks (I think the proportions are perfect) but want to go with a lighter wheel and a more comfortable and quieter tire.

So here's what I'm Looking for a 20x10" aluminum wheel (I've read it's the lightest material). I really like the Factory Reproduction wheel and the Viper SRT10 style cast aluminum wheel on Quadratec (links below) is anyone running these? Anybody running something different that they like? Next, I'm looking for a 35x12.5R20 tire with an aggressive look but supreme ride comfort (no road noise). Willing to do an all-terrain or even an all-season tire. Right now the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Radial is my favorite, any other suggestions for a comfortable tire? Thanks...

More than anything I'd just suggest smaller wheels!

The wheels I really have no interesting suggestions because I still have my stock 17" Alloy Mambo (Mamba?) wheels but if you paint the stock wheels black with your fire red JK it would look pretty cool because it's simple, badass, and classy all at the same time. For the tires, I do suggest getting Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor. They are basically the Goodyear MTR's with Kevlar except the Kevlar on these is on the inside of the tire instead of the outside giving it a quieter ride (hence "Silent Armor"). The tread is an all-terrain tire also so it works great on the road and from personal experience, works superb out on the trails. Honestly I would really suggest you just take a look at these tires. Hope this helps!!

x2 here. 20s are too big for 35s, IMO

I had mt atz on my last jeep. Loved them, quite on the road with great manners, and I had 22,000 miles on them and very little tread wear. As a result, mt mtz will be going on the rubi. Enjoy!

Like clock work I knew I was going to get some "20's are too big comments," sorry but please re-read the thread I didn't ask for your opinions on wheel size just wheel suggestions. Just don't get why you backwoods rednecks feel the need to comment on every wheel thread. Been on this forum for three years and have never once commented negatively on someone else's thread, if I didn't agree with it I just moved on to the next thread.

IMO! a 2.5" lift with 20x10" concave style wheels (with 4.5 inch backspacing) and 35's with an aggressive tread (and on the sidewalls) are the perfect combination period. It's just the right proportion of "meat" and wheel. In the three years I've had my Jeep, not a day has gone by that I've been somewhere public and someone hasn't complimented me on my Jeep but specifically the wheels. Had one guy follow me off the freeway for three miles just to ask me what they were, caught a father and son taking pictures with my Jeep as I was coming out of the grocery store, and my favorite story had a blonde milf give me her phone number because my Jeep reminded her of the one she had when she was in college, we met up later that week

Back to the thread, good suggestions so far, I do like the factor wheels but they only come in a 17" anyone know of a company that makes a similar style wheel but in a 20"? Yeah I saw a guy with the Mickey's on his FJ Cruiser said he loved the tires and that they were quiet on the freeway, those are still number one right now on my list, I'll check out those Goodyears as well. Any other suggestions, perhaps a combo that you're currently running? Thanks.

Oh and here's my ride, don't care what you wheel haters say, it sits perfect! Also 75 and sunny on xmas day, only in LA!

3 years ago, I bet you were one of the few running the hot new wheel! Nowadays though, wickedly common combo, IMHO! I am gonna hafta add that I think 20's are too dang big for any tire under 40's but hey, to each their own, right? To those who say the OP must not wheel his Jeep, I'd say that's not necessarily true, I've seen a guy around here with those exact same rims that offroads the piss outta his Jeep!!! At any rate, I'd say, if you want 20's, go for those SRT8 ones! IMHO, they look hot! If I wanted 20's those would be what I would run!!! You are gonna need spacers though, the backspacing on them is HUGE at 6.34"! It looks to me that the Mickey Thompson ATZ's would make a good choice for you though, I have never run them, nor do I know anybody that does so, I can't comment on them beyond their looks! Another possible option that look like they might work for you are Nitto dune grapplers- mild tread but a different look, very detailed sidewalls and tread!

I'm 99% sure I'm getting the Rcokstars 18" and Duratrac 35s for a JK Unilimited with AEV bummpers and lift.

I don't see any jeeps around here "NE Georgia" with those wheels.

I know this has nothing to do with your question. Sorry.

I never would have thought to put 20s on my jeep, but I have to say, they look pretty sweet!
