Default 5.38 questions

I have some quick questions before i order my 5.38 gears. This has nothing to do with my front axle because i have a custom 60 with 5.38 gears already.
I was wondering does it matter which gears i order if i am not running a rubicon rear-end?
Also where are yall ordering your 5.38 gears from and i have already had 1 gear change should i still order a master overhaul kit for the 5.38s change?

thanks

The Off Road Connection is where I order my gears from.

I was recommended to me to purchase over kit because some place may not warranty the work with only a ring and pinion change. You should check with installer.

5.38 will not work in a non-Rubi 44. Youll have to replace something called the "cage" to get them to fit. Though I must say i havent met anyone who has done this. and X2 on getting the rebuild kit when changing the gears.

OP has a 60 up front, that's plenty big enough for the 5.38 I believe.
