Default Wheel Spacers & Brake Rotors

OK, I have my 1.5 inch wheel spacers ordered, I have read about 1000 posts about them, and have now watched a video of an install on U tube. Had not thought about it before but it looks like spacers will have to come off to replace or turn the rotors if needed during a brake job. IS THIS CORRECT. I only ask because I do not do my own brakes and have a feeling the people who do will not reinstall the spacers. I will probably want to get a brake job before I install my new spacers so I do not have to reinstall them this spring when I figured on needing brakes.

Wow. I guess that nobody with spacers have had their rotors turned? I was curious about this question too. I'd be willing to bet that the rotor / spacer combo probably will not chuck up. IDK.

Yes, you have to remove the adapters (spacers) to remove the rotors. The good news is that it's 5 buts per wheel, and a little red Loctite when you put them back on. If your shop doesn't want to deal with them, simply remove the rotors yourself and take them to be turned, if they even need it. It's not a big deal at all.

A little off topic, but changing out brake pads yourself will save big bucks. I understand the safety concern, but try to find a local Jeep friend who has experience to help you and buy them a meal or some beverage of their choice. You will gain experience and be money ahead. After you've done it once, you'll realize just how easy it is and not need help again.

Thanks for the information.
The spacers came last night and I think I will just go ahead and put them on this week-end. I think my pads are good until spring and by then I may be ready to try my own brake job.

Thanks again
