Question Disconnecting the sway bar

Please don’t beat me up if this is a stupid question look I am still a Newbie.

Can I disconnect the sway bar on my Sahara easily before I hit the trail and reconnect it just as easily after?

I assume you're speaking manually and not the optional electric disco, regardless the answer is yes.

You really need to define easily and even then you're going to run into a mess of opinions. If you don't put a quick disconnect kit in then it's going to be a PITA. You will need to be on totally level ground, you will need two wrenches (I think an 18 and a 19, if memory serves me correctly) and a small rubber mallet doesn't hurt. Take off the nuts at each end of the sway bar links, remove the links, then strap the sway bar up parallel to your frame.

A disconnect kit will cut the time it takes to do all that by at least a quarter and if you get the JKS kit, you won't even have to worry about finding level ground.

True-- but i was doing it before that. It's not that bad if you just lie down on your back and get under there... I agree that quick discos are much easier (I'm running the Teraflex ones, myself)-- but doing it manually is a heck of a lot better than not doing it at all!
