Default 17" Wheel Backspacing

Will aftermarket drive shaft options adversely affect the availability of 17" wheel configurations with 4.00 inches of backspacing? I have been searching, but have been unsuccessful finding 17s in those dimensions that were not beadlocks. Does anyone know of any 17" non-beadlock wheels with 4" of BS, preferably alloy? Thanks.

Edit: Added drive shaft phraseology in the hopes of shamelessly generating a greater response to the above wheel question (if this doesn't work, will have to consider provocative terms normally associated with scantily clad members of the fairer sex).

V-Tec has a couple of 17 x 8.5 wheels with 4.25 backspace, the Warlord and Wizard series. Besides those two I have not seen anyone else go less than 4.5 inches on the 17s (I have been looking for a while). You can get Walker Evans street locks in a 4 inch bs , but they are way pricey!

Hope that helps you out.

X2, most have 4.5"

I know you said 17", but the Dick Cepek DC2 in a 16" has 4.0 backspacing. That would save you money on tires too. Of course, unless you already have them...

I considered the DC2 when I got my wheels, but didn't because I wanted the 4.5".

Thanks guys. You're somewhat confirming what I've noticed - for some reason, 17s with 4.0" backspacing non-beadlocks are difficult to find (at least for me). I have seen 16s with 4.0" backspacing, but not 17s.

Anyone know of other 4" BS options in a 17" wheel, or why they're not that common?

They look like steel wheels, or are they available in an alloy?

Depending on rim width there are plenty out there.

For example a 17x9 wheel that I ran had a 12mm offset. This is the same as a 4" back space on a 9" rim (divided by 2, a zero offset is 4.5" backspacing). 25mm is about 1" in the rim world, so you can work both metric and standard offsets. I ran 4" just fine and now run a 3.5" backspace.

Tons of Pro comp rims can meet your needs. Then there are higher end ones and cheaper ones. Beadlocks too.
