Default 4.10 non rubi?

Hey Guys,

Messed up when I bought......chose a different color and got the 3.21 rather than the 3.73's I test drove.....my own dumb mistake. Now to fix this would love to go to 4.10's but my guy cannot find them for my rig. It is a 2011 Sport S package with the 32's.....he has checked with Dana, Motive and Randy's ring and pinion. He is telling me that I can go 3.73 or jump to 4.88 in a good gear, there is also an offroad gear that would be a bit noisy in 4.56. Was hoping to go 4.10 and then bump up to 33's when I have the money. Did not really want to go bigger and be forced to deal with backspacing and lift issues as this is my DD and the wife will complain if it gets much taller than it is!!! Any help would be appreciated.

Tim

I believe that 4.10's and 4.56's will be significantly more expensive than say 4.88's, probably due to popularity. You might be able to find some used 4.10's and pick up new install kits and bearings.

I'm running 33's on my manual 3.21s and don't really notice any issues.

2007 non rubi models were available with 4.10s, since all the aftermarket gears are the same part number for 2007-2012 the 4.10s for the 07 should fit your 2011.

you should be able to get them through the dealership or Mopar Parts America sells them

I see stock Rubicon gear sets for sale all the time on CL.
Might be worth checking in your area before you drop coin on a new set.

Found these on a quick search...

Rubicon sets won't work, Dana 44 ring and pinion is different than the Dana 30.

oops non-rubi. Still, low mile take off gear sets are common.
At least around here, every JK I see on the trail has been lifted, locked and re-geared for bigger tires. Most are non-Rubicon.

I have been looking for take offs but so far no dice in my area, spoke with Alloy USA today and got the part numbers for their 4.10 ring and pinion sets.....looks like I will be going with them. Waiting for my guy to get back with me on a price, he has told me he should be able to do it all for under $1200 so for that I will not quibble. My own fault for not being more careful when I bought. On the bright side I think the 4.10's will be perfect as even the model with the 3.73's seemed lacking to me. Plus this gives me a bit more gear to work with as I plan to go to 33's eventually and possibly even lift it 2.5. Thanks for the replies.

Sell it and buy one with the gears you want...

To me, that's a lot of money to go back to a 'stock' ratio. Think I'd just live with it until I went to taller tires.

I may be wrong but to go to 4:10 ratio gears you will need to change the carrier as well.
