Default 285/70r17 Duratracs on stock Moabs--Is this article true or bs?

This article, http://www.jeepfan.com/projects/good...-installation/ , claims that 285/70r17 Goodyear Duratracs will fit on stock Moab wheels without rubbing (with no wheels spacers). The Rubi in the article has a Teraflex leveling kit, 285's, and stock Moabs. Everything I've read, except this article, says this combo would rub without wheels spacers. So anyone with this setup have personal experience with this setup? I'm just wondering if this article is legit or bs.

My 2010 with the same setup rubbed on the front swaybar at full lock, I now run Spidertrax wheel spacers.

YMMV

my tires are the same size.
they rub the sway bar at full lock.

Thanks for the replies. I was 99.9% sure that was the case, but this article made me second guess it. I guess the ppl that wrote the article only drove it in a straight line. Lol

for those of you running this set up, are you able to get the spare on the tailgate without a spacer? did you have to do anything to make it fit?
I've added the spacer but it sticks out way too far for my liking, and with it being such a popular set up I haven't heard of anyone else having problems.. which makes me assume you're all able to mount it up just fine-??

ps. sorry for the slight hijack, but I too needed the spidertrax spacers to prevent rubbing

From what I have seen people have been able to stuff 285/70/17 on a stock tire on the rear carrier no problem (don't need a spacer for the rear carrier either)... if you search for pictures of 35's on stock rims it appears people have even gotten those on the carrier so 33's should be no problem.

edit: picture proof of 33's on stock rim fitting in the spare:

My stock 255's on 18's rub at full lock. Not sure how anything bigger is supposed to be tickety boo with no spacers or less backspacing on the wheels.

I have 285/70r17 Duratracs @ 38 psi
With a teraflex spacer 1.5 leveling kit and Stock rims. I do NOT have spacers and I have absolutely NO rubbing on the swaybar, and I parallel park that thing every morning in the city.........
