Old Man Emu lift questions
I currently have a 2007 2 door on a 4 year old 2" skyjacker budget boost with skyjacker nitro shocks with a new set of 33" toyo mt's. I'm interested in upgrading my suspension to get a little smoother ride and maybe a little more lift (or just getting back to 2") being that I drive in NYC and my shocks seem pretty useless at this point, as are the springs, let alone they are also starting to sag. I've heard great things about the Old Man Emu coil lifts and would like feedback. I just ended up having to do front lower adjustable control arms after 4 years after putting a 2nd set of 3" tires on and having my caster way out of spec, which helped a decent amount with mainly control and a little ride quality. I'm confused, after reading endlessly and speaking to northridge etc as to if I should get the HD springs or the standard springs... I'd like a softer ride, however not too "mushy," being that I drive fast etc and to prevent too much body roll and what not, however, I'm currently getting killed on bumpy roads with my current setup. I'm also interested in getting a little more lift from the HD, or "more bang for the buck" however, do not want to create more problems for my jeep and also stay within reason $$$ wise (I plan on getting this installed at a local custom jeep shop.) Including install I'd like to spend around $1800... (install is expensive) I plan on doing a new front bumper in the near future and currently just have about a 50lb subwoofer setup in the trunk and a full 33" spare on the stock carrier which is quite heavy. My main hesitations are creating more problems by getting 3" of lift without a steel bumper or even with and what else I need to buy in order to prevent more problems, if this kit would be "too stiff" and most importantly, if I need adj. track bars, sway bar links, etc etc... I've heard the standard lift will sag if I do a new bumper and have the extra weight in the trunk, however, I still am interested in both. I'd like to hear what setups others are running on their 2 doors with old man emu and how they ride.. Also, what do people think of the ride on either the OME HD and standard springs (with the OME nitro shocks) on the 2 doors, and if anyone has pictures or advice...

I also have a 2007 2-door, and I went with the OME HD springs. I got the long travel kit from Northridge with the Nitro shocks, Teraflex LCA's, JKS front disco's, Rear sway bar links, front and rear JKS trackbars, and extended brake lines. The kit is awesome! I just recently upgraded my bumpers and added a winch, but with the stock setup the Jeep rode just fine... not too stiff. I would go with the HD springs if you plan on adding bumpers later. I have 35" tires.
I did the install myself, which wasn't too bad and took about a day with help from a couple of friends.
There are lots of pics of my setup in my profile, but here is a preview:

It has everything you need. Contact David at Northridge because he added the front disconnects (if you don't have a Rubicon) for about $50. You will also need a front driveshaft sooner than later.
