I recently purchased a 2012 JKU Sport that didn't come with a tow bar. As I am looking at purchasing a tent trailer and a small fishing boat, I was curious to know if the tow hitch recpatacle that comes standard on most aftermarket bumpers is capable of towing or should I just leave the stock bumper on and buy a tow bar from Uhaul or the dealer? I know the JKU sport is rated at 3500 lbs towing as a Class 2, I just wanted to know my options before proceeding with either purchase.

 

You can call the manufacturer of the bumper. Or, get a bumper that retains the stock style receiver. The receiver is available from some of the forum sponsors.
