Default teraflex quick disco issue

I just got me some teraflex quick disconnects and the metal bushing you have to push out wouldn't budge at all. Hammer+pin+vice did not work so off to the local off road shop to have them try. They used their press to get it out, using the pin to push the metal bushing out. Now the pin is suck. Looks like these will be going back to teraflex. I did talk to doug at teraflex about this last week and he did say that with their new quick discos the metal bushing is a lot harder to get out than the old ones.

I will post a pic once gmail starts to work.

These new bushings are not as easy to knock out that sleeve as the older versions were. I would lay the link on a piece of wood and use a deep socket/bolt with a sledge hammer to knock it out.

I tried that. I had to take it to a shop and have them use a press to get the bushing out. The circled part is suck in the rubber bushing on the link since that is what they used to push out the metal bushing. I cannot get it out unless I use a press. There is no way one would be able to take the links off on the trail and they may not even be able to get the links on the pin after instal. When I talked to Doug about it last week he said the bushing where really tight and you(teraflex) might have to talk to the maker of them to get it fixed.

Eta: do you have any of the old ones left? if so can i send these back and get those?

I've got a similar problem. I was able to install them, but they are so tight that I can't disconnect without using something to pry them off and it's a PITA to get them back on. I have a lot of teraflex equipment and love it, but these are useless right now.

I have the same problem. I got the bushings hammered out but it is extremely tight when I put them on the lower studs. I had to hammer it on to get it far enough to pin. Even then it would not go on far enough to include the washer on the pin side.

On a side note... I had to drill out my sway far holes and hammer in the links because the top end would not fit through. I was not happy about this. I was so pumped to put my 3" Teraflex lift on but the fact that I had so many problems with the quick discos left a sour taste in my mouth. Not to mention about $40 of bits to drill out the extremely tough sway bar holes.

I have a 3" TF lift and am happy with every thing except the disconnects. Even with the old bushings I used a rubber mallet to get them off on the trail. I have since switched to JKS disocnnects and am happier fwiw.

Still a big TF fan, just not so much this product.

I too have had issues with getting the metal sleeve out. The worst part is, I need channel locks and a rubber mallet to disco and reconnect. It is so hard to reconnect it's hardly worth it. Subscribed to see if there is a fix. I do enjoy my leveling kit though!
