Default 3.21 and 35's suck, Video/how bad?

So here's the deal. I know its going to suck, but I'm not going to be able to afford the lift, wheels, tires, and gears all at once. I'll be driving around on the sporty wheels and tires w/ 2.5'' lift for a while, it's gonna look goofy, but I'll be saving for wheels and tires. My question is, should I get the 35s first or the 4.56 gears first?

Does anyone have any video of just how bad 3.21s are w/35s? I drove a Chevy Tracker for years while I was saving for my jeep and it was slow as all get out, but it got the job done. I can't imagine its going to be worse than that. Living in Louisiana, everything is flat and just above/at/below sealevel so elevation is going to be a problem.

So what do you guys think? Should I just wait and do it all at once, or put it together as I can?

I ran 33s with the 3.73 for a while before I changed to 5.13 gearing. Even with the 3.73 I didnt like the drive/performance. I couldnt imagine how you would feel with 3.21s. Do you have an auto or manual. If you have an auto, to me it would totally suck. I would get the gearing first and 35s later. At least that way you can have fun with the added uummmpppphhh the 4.56 gearing gives you with the stock tires....

I looked at your profile and see that you have a manual. In that case you'll probably be okay if you choose to get the 35s with out regearing. It may be sluggish off the line and you will probably only use 4th - 5th gear most of the time. But having a manual you have some sort of control with the RPMs and shifting even with the 35s....

I have 3.21 with 35 km2s, manual trans. It's not as bad as I expected. But I don't drive fast. It works until I go bigger then ill regear.

What's your jeep look like? I'll see if I can find the video

Worst case scenario is if you get the 35s first and you dont like the performance you can always store those tires, run your stocks until you have enough money to regear....At least you already took care of getting the 35s and allow yourself to then move to the next stage and start saving for the regearing....

I ran 33" tires with the 5.13 gearing for a while...The tires actually measured ~31" and my RPMs were around ~2800 - 3000 at 60mph (cant recall the specific RPM)...I found that okay granted I only do city driving, plus the 3.8 engines love being at that RPM range...
