Default 2.5" lift....any alignment,castor issues

i am about to order my lift and was planning on the rk 2.5 max travel. it is going to be hard to drop that much coin right now for lift wheels and tires. so i think im going to go with either the rk stock mod or the teraflex 2.5 coil lift due to the prices. my question is has anyone who is running either of these lifts had any issues with alignment or castor angle problems. also should i just wait and get the full max travel kit when budget allows or just get one of the others and piece it together over time (control arms, track bar, etc.) thanks in advance for any help. also this is a DD and i wont wheel often but when i do i want it to work.

I've got the teraflex spring kit and have been happy with it. I highly suggest an adjustable front trackbar though to re-center the axle. You might need spacers also for the wheels. I also ended up buying LCA arms for the front because I did not like the flighty feeling of the steering. I have also since discovered that you should watch the CV (?) boot on the front axle since it gets torn on lifted jeeps due to the flex of the lift.

look at the 2.5" flex system. save a few bucks up front and get everything you need for a smooth ride. then you can add the rear lower control arms on later if you think you need them.

i started with a budget boost, then added the RK front LCA's and it drove dramatically different (better) - now upgrading coils to the RK 2.5" and adding their adjustable trackbar and i know i will be happy and be done with the suspension mods. if i had to do it again, i would just get the 2.5" flex to begin with and be done with it!!

I was in the same boat. I went with the RK 2.5" stock mod, staying with stock rims and tires so I also go the 1.5 Spidertrax wheel spacers and Bilstein 5100 shocks. I had no issues with flighty front end or needing an alignment. I do plan on upgrading to rims and tires next year, looks surprisingly good without them right now. I also went with the RK kit because of how easy it is to upgrade. I plan to goto the flex mod kit then eventually the max travel all when the money is available. I'm really happy with my setup. Good luck

keep saving and get the Max Travel, I waited until I could afford that and the tires/wheels....sucks waiting, but worth it in the end. The Max Travel kit is a very good value I think. Very nice kit, Im very happy with mine. Ride is nice, handles nice even though I havent had it aligned yet, and they are a great company to deal with. Just my two cents.....

I did the 2.5 TeraFlex kit and did it in stages
I wish though I did it all at once.

Front adjustable LCAs
Front adjustable Trackbar
Rear adjustable Upper control Arms

I just finished my max travel kit today. Im getting the tires put on tomorrow. But like one of the previous guys said. It looks pretty damn cool with the stock rubi tires. But since ive already bought the new 35's id better put them on i suppose, haha. But if i didnt, i would be happy driving it around as is. So yeah, i'd go ahead and get the lift u want now, the tires can wait if u dont have the cash for them now

I have the TF 2.5" coil kit and have had zero issues with it. Tracks just as straight as new. Ride quality is great running 33 Duratracs.

I installed the 2.5 RK stock mod kit on my JKU. I got just shy of 3in of lift even with the added weight of the bumper and winch. My castor was at 2.65 after the lift. It was very flighty and would nearly change lanes on an uneven paved road. Added the RK adjustable LCA's and drives like it should (the allignmet tech reccomended cam bolts ) Couldn't be happier with the lift. Sets almost perfectly level. The rear is 1/8 of an inch higer than the front.

Love the shape of the LCA's for clearance past the tires.
