The Truetrac uses gears which last longer and are often biased to engage more quickly.

Factory uses a Trak-Lock in the back .. not a Tru-Track ... the factory one uses clutches that wear out pretty fast .. most people call it a TRASH-Lock ...
If you don't want to lock the front ... the best alternative is Detroit Locker in the back and a Tru-Trac in the Front.

I have driven many vehicles with LSDs front and rear, mostly Subarus but my CJ7 had that setup (Quadratrac), and the Trak Lok i had on my 2010 was by far the least effective LSD I had. Not because it has clutches or anything, just not a good product. I have lockers in the rear now and have not noticed it is gone.
If you don't do rock crawling LSDs are great on the trail.

I run this set up and it's awesome, for my conditions. You could do other things that are economical (Aussi, Detroit) that might fit your situation better. What do you need a traction aiding device for, what are your goals other than economic etc.
