Default Recommended Tie Rod replacements?

My alignment guy said my tie rod ends are bad and need to be replaced.
What's the after market Tie Rod forum flavor of the month that y'all recommend.

I run the Currie tie rod and it has taken some serious abuse and held up great?

I have the Rock Krawler. Its a good strong choice. You do have to get your own ends. RK suggets you use the mopar part but I think you can do better by running by your local advanced auto parts and picking up a set of Mood tie rod ends (you will have to get a jam nut also). They are have grease fitting and a nut with cotter pin (just in case)

Running the Rock Krawler HD Tie Rod, it's light weight but heavy duty. Just make sure you pick up the RK Steering Stabilizer bracket that is made for the larger diameter of the RK Tie Rod of you decide to go that way.

Just installed the RockKrawler TieRod this past Saturday then tried out out Sunday, seems to work great. I went with RK because it was less expensive the Currie. I run the Currie on my TJ and it is a great solid product.

As for TieRod Ends I did oder the Moog ends but they ended up not fitting and when I called RK to discuss they said get the Factory ones. I talked to a buddy with a shop that does a lot of custom off-road fab work, he told me that he has had a fair share of Moog parts not lasting. While we where talking a chevy truck came in on a tow truck and the Moog Pitman arm broke, and it was the 2nd Moog one on that truck in the last couple years.

On my install of the RK I ran into a problem, since it is aluminum you have to make sure that the threads on the TieRod Ends are clean and free from burs etc. 3 of the 4 that I bought and opened new out of the package from the dealer had problem with the threads. I didn't catch it until it was to late, and it trashed the aluminum threads on one end of the TieRod, the other end went in great. I was lucky to find a Tap and Die at McMaster Carr which was open on Saturday's and only an hour drive. So now another $150 into the Tap and Die and I was able to clean up all the threads and finish the install.

While I was at it I put the Reid Knuckles and the RK Drag Link in, (the other 2 TieRod Ends went on the Drag Link) Hopefully I will have time in this week to install the RK Track Bar as well.

Good Luck and you can't go wrong with either company.

I know when you buy an aftermarket part and install it on your pride and joy, you're supposed rave about how wonderful it is, but I run both the Currie tie rod and drag link and have had a number of issues with them due to their poor design (there are several threads in the forum on their shortcomings - look up Currie +rust or torn boots or snapped in half, etc). Would go the RK route if I had it to do all over again plus save $$$ for other mods.
