I know for 2012 the Sports come with 16x7 steel wheels and the 17" and 18" wheels are aluminum.
Noticed an aluminum 16" wheel being referenced on a parts website. Was there a factory 16" aluminum wheel on earlier JK's? If so what package did they come on?
How common are they?
Any pictures?
Thanks.

I'm running the 16x8 aluminum factory wheels. My 2010 came with 16x7 steel wheels, but I got the aluminum from another forum member. I think they only came on 07-08s.
I like them a lot. They are better looking and lighter than the steel. There also seems to be more variety of tire choices for your $ on the 16 vs 17. Some go big on the 16, others stay close to stock. I shot for somewhere in the middle.

That's kind of my reasoning. Aluminum 16's = lighter weight and more, cheaper tire selection.
Kicking myself because I only realized they were out there after a guy had a set on the local CL for cheap a while back. Not on there any more.![doh](https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/doh.gif)
Sure they're 16x8? I think car-parts.com calls them 16x7 and they go off the Hollander Interchange.
