Default Modding a 2012

Where are you guys getting power and grounds from on the 2012s. Also where are you going through the firewall at.

if you remove the side panel of your dash, you will see a foam filled hole that goes through the fire wall. you can use a coat hanger to clear the hole and run wires through it and right to the battery.

Is this the same panel used when adding light switches? If so, is it easy enough to remove? Had performed this on my Avalanche and cracked the plastic screw hole on the panel.

I believe he means right here:



on the left (the very left) you'll see the side panel taken off and a red wire going into the foam filled hole.

Also, you can ground stuff on the metal dash part beneath that same panel (there's a bolt directly above the foam filled hole, and I just stripped the wire and tied it around that bolt and re-tightened it)

Yep, it does! Just pull a bit. Only held in by little tabs.

I think I found mine last night. I'll post up some pics tonight when I get home for you guys. I know it's always nice to have a visual reference with some of this stuff.
