Buying a rubicon in august!
Hey everyone,
I have been lurking on this site and other jk forums for a while now and I have decided that my new car is going to be a 2012 rubicon. The car I currently have is on her last leg, but she should make it til August.
I went through the whole rubicon or sport dilemma and decided that I don't have much time to spend modding it myself, or have any friends who are very mechanically gifted, so a rubicon is perfect. I spend most of my time on roads, but I do go to the mountains a couple times a year, and I plan on getting my feet wet in the wheelin world.
I plan in having my rubicon built and shipped. Is there anything I should know or do when I order? Or anything you would like to share about your first jeep buying experience?
All information is appreciated.
Thanks!

You'll be driving a 2013 if you wait until then to order!
I ordered mine last July. It was the first new vehicle that I've owned. Do your research and figure out what options you want. This site is a great source for information. I joined Tread Lightly and purchased using that discount. It was painless and gives you a fair price while supporting a good organization. You can probably shop around and get a better deal but the time and effort wasn't worth it to me. Plus many of deals came later in the year and that was time I would not have had my Jeep.
You can do a lot with a stock rubicon. But be forewarned, if you hang out here enough you'll want to mod it up. Good luck with your purchase. Oh, and be ready for a bunch of people to tell you not to call it a car.

I understand it'll be 1-1.5% higher in price than the 2012s. Since the interior was redesigned in 2011 and the engine in 2012, I wouldn't expect significant change in 2013 other than some different color choices.
I ordered a JKUR a week ago, so my 6-ish week clock is ticking (hopefully). My dealer told me (for what THAT'S worth) that the cutoff for ordering a 2012 is sometime in June. NOt sure about a price increase, but it certainly wouldn't be a surprise.
