Default JK 44 Rubicon Front to Pro Rock 44, carrier shims on outside or inside of bearings?

So I am working on swapping over my internals from a Rubicon 44 to a Dynatrac Pro rock 44, are the carrier shims on the outside of the bearings or inside?

Do the bearings have to be pressed off or setup bearings used to make changes to the shims etc?

I haven't teared anything down yet and will be getting a Professional Certified Mechanic to setup the pinion and gears with a master install kit I purchased just making sure I have anything I will need to get the job done.
