Default 2.5 or 3 inch lift?

Hey guys I am thinking about installing a 2.5 to 3 inch lift on my 08 jk. Auto trans. I want to run 35" on it. I have stock 17" Rubicon wheels that I've got powder coated black. My question is at which point do you start changing the geometry enough where you have to mess with the auto transmission and drive shaft? I would like to run 35's with out rubbing and changing anything other then lift. Thinking about going with AEV. Thanks

2.5in is good. 3in you will be pushing it. I run a 2.5in coil lift and getting 35s today

I could probably use an adj. track bar but Ive been lifted for 5 months now and havent seen any issues. I wheel a little bit but nothing to hardcore. I was back and forth between the 2.5 and the 3in and after my research I found that going 3in or higher people start seeing problems with drive shafts, brake line, etc.

Default Lift size?

Something to think about... A 2.5 is fairly easy and inexpensive (and doesn't open a huge can of worms with steering, driveline etc.) And it fits 35's. If you need the extra lift, a 1" body lift is $100.00 more ( and barely, if at all noticeable). I went AEV 2.5 with 1" BL and couldn't be happier. Total cost for the lift was under 1K, and it works great. Good luck with the build!

Do you guys use them as daily driver's? I think that I am going to go with a 2.5. But I am worried that ill want to go higher at some point and regret not going with a 3 instead.

I started out with a 2.5" lift that was easy to use, very little extra mods needed. I moved up to 3", needed adj front track bar, front longer lower control arms to adj pinion, and shorter rear lower control arms to assist the pinion angle. Personally I'm very happy with 3", a bit more involved though than 2.5. I'm running 295/70/17's on OE Grand Cherokee wheels with 1.75" spacers.

No re-gear, but do have a Superchip which works awesome! I did need to use wheel spacers. 1.75". 2.5" susp lift, with .5" coil spacer added to front, 3/4" coil spacer added to rear.
