Default Evo Coilover or Rock Krawler 3.5 X Factor Coliover Long Arm ?

Hi everyone

I am new to the forum (been a diligent reader for a few days) and a new owner of a 2012 Rubicon 2Dr.
For my lift I am considering (a) evo coilovers (b) Rock Krawler 3.5 X Factor Coilover Long Arm

My objective is to do it right the first (and only) time. I want excellent on-road handling. By that I mean nimble and comfortable. Precise steering and not the "floaty" feeling of the stock Wrangler - but not harsh either. Somthing I can drive everyday and drive it to Moab, Colorado, S. Cal or where ever.
I also want it to be extremely capable off-road. I want to be able to go anywhere and handle any trail and feel that the Wrangler helped me overcome my own limitations as a driver.
I also own a Land Rover LR4 and every time I go on a trail and I only see Jeeps there, I know that LR4 wizardry helped me get there with ease - not my driving alone.
I want the same feeling with this Jeep.

I am not sure whether to go 35" or 37" tires.

Between the Evo and RK. I am leaning toward Evo. But - will I also need long arms with the Evo (hence increasing the price tag even more) or can I get the Evo coilovers with stock Rubicon control-arm setup ?
RK kit has coilovers in the front only, but its their top of the line suspension kit and they apparently have a life time warranty on parts.

Another thing is reliability. For the most part I hope this requires minimal up-keep and not constant visits to the installer's shop.

I am going to swap the front and rear drive shafts and I believe some re-positioning of the the exhaust will be needed.
Also - I not doing this myself but a reputable installer in Dallas/Fort Worth area will do this for me.

I would really appreciate some opinions on this. I want to do it right.

What would you pick: Evo or RK or something else ?

Thanks for your time ...

Cheers!

Default Read through this

To save you from basically starting another turf war just read thru this entire thread I have linked for you. It has all the EVO vs RK comparisons throughout it. It has lots of facts and lots of rookie "my friend who knows a guy that saw......" type of back and forth, but bottom line it will spell out who the obvious choice for you is. I know who and why I selected what I run and this thread link should help you my friend!

No problem brother! Good luck with the build of your rig, and make sure you post some photos too!

I just finished 2 days on the Rubicon trail... My 2012 jku rubicon with 3.5" RK max and 3 guys on Evo coil overs. I didn't get stuck once, had a blast, and saved 2-10k over what they paid. In happy with my lift choice

Thats great to know. So you did not feel limited in any way and were able to face obstacles with similar ease as they did ?
Was there any point where your Jeep had to work harded than theirs and be assisted ?
Thanks for your time.

Cheers!

I have the rock krawler 3.5 max travel plus kit and love it. I also did the rubicon last month and had no problem at all with a 4 door on 37's. If I had it to do over I would go with the evo high clearance long arms with there coilovers. Both nice kits though.

Thanks for chiming in. Its great to hear from folks who've actually used a kit.
On the do-over why would you go with evo high clearance long arms?
And why the coilovers?

Cheers!

I have needs and wants, do I need long arms with 3.5 inches of lift, no I don't. Do I need coilovers, no I don't my jeep rides really nice on and off road. But that said the evo high brackets gives you more clearance, which is nice and the long arms will give you a better ride on the road too. The coilovers are longer and will give you more flex.

Gotcha. Thanks for explaining.
So (from your signature) you have mid-arm control arms and for a do-over you'd rather go with long arms for even better on-road quality.

Cheers!
