Default 3.5" RK Lift setup quest.

I recently bought a 3.5" flex system RK and learned that I need to change my bump stops. I want to run 35" and do nont know what size, type, and where to get them. I was planning on getting the lift done this Monday but will have to wait.

After the install I want to see how much of lift I will get & decide to go with 33" or 35". I prefered 35" but thinking to stay with 33" so that I dont need to regear. My 2009 Jk is a 4 door, stock with 3.73 gear.

RK recommend Bilstein 5100 Part Numbers:

Front - BE5-E174-HO - 17" Collapsed to 29" Extended
Rear - BE5-E175-HO - 17" Collapsed to 27" Extended

I keep finding Bilstein shocks with most vendors. Are these equal or a replacement to the above.
BIL24-186995 16" Collapsed to 27" Extended

Thanks for reading on...I will apreciate any imput or recommendation for my Install.

I went w RKs rear 3" bumpstops. They bolt on, nicely built. I used 3 hockey pucks each side on the front. I drilled/tapped the lower pad and bolted them down, completely adjustable. I have yet to flex it out and check clearance, but it's a good starting point.

My effective lift was 4" frt & 4.5" rear with big heavy bumpers/winch. I wouldn't like the look of anything smaller than my 35", but I crawl so wouldn't go smaller anyway.

Just search their Bilstein numbers came up in Quadratec.

Most run 3" bumps for 35's and stock fenders and 2" bumps with flat fenders. I run 3" bumps with flat fenders and 37's no rubbing.

I have 3" bumps with the 3.5" RK, works perfect. I got about 4.5 in the front and 4 in the back. Im currently running MT 315/70/17, which measure about 34 tall and they look real small, I would suggest going with 35s. You will probably regret spending the money on 33s and want 35s pretty quickly.

Just got off working thanks for all your replies. From what I'am reading I will go with the 3" in front & back.

fredrok your idea of using hocker pucks sounds great and inexpensive. Thank you all for your advice.

If I am runing 3.73 gear, do I need to regear higher if so how much for 35" tires. Is pro-cal my best choise and a must to adjust air pressure, rpm, etc.

Will I need any other upgrades to my JK before I take it in to the shop.

You're welcome. You will need the Procal to adjust your tire size if for no other reason. Your speedo will be off and if you have an automatic, your shift points will be off too if you don't use the Procal. I have a manual w/ 4.10s so I have a little more leeway with my 35s than an automatic would lend. I downshift more often than I would if I regeared but right now it's liveable for me. If I regeared, I'd go 4.88s. I would suggest doing what you're going to do with lift and tires and then see if you feel the need to regear. With 35s, I'd go to no less than 4.56s and would suggest 4.88s IMO.

Your other upgrade question is pretty open ended! Depends on what your rig purpose is (how much and what type of wheeling if any?) Assuming you'll wheel, I would consider a 1310 front shaft and 1350 rear unless you won't wheel. I'd also consider C gussets (I used RK), the Northridge bolt kit and a high steer draglink kit (RK makes that also) as mandatory items to go with your lift.

Let us know how it turns out.
