Default What am i missing?

So i am wanting to lift my jeep. I have bought used teraflex 3.5 coils for front and rear. And i have also bought teraflex 9550 shocks. Can i run just the coils and shocks? If not what is mandatory to have to run that set up? I'm new to lifting vehicles, on a budget and in need of some advice. I just don't want to put them on and then have problems. That being said i'm willing to wait a bit to lift it but, i'm anxious. All help is appreciated. cheers.

Well long story short no. I would get lower front control arms and upper rear plus adj front trackbar and rear bracket and sway bar links front and rear

Also what year do you have

And two or four door

It is a 2011 and it is a 4 door. I know its good to have all of those things i just didn't know that all of it was needed to fit because stock parts were to small or just doesn't work with stock parts.

Bare minimum, you will have to have the swaybar links. And probably brake line extensions.
Without control arms, your jeep will drive funny.
Without adjustable track bars, your jeep will look funny.

What size tires do you plan to run and with what rims? You might need to center the axles with brackets or adjustable trac bars

You'll also need extended brake lines or a bracket to extend them (bracket is easier)

And you should really get adjustable control arms in the front or get AEVs brackets...

On a budget.. I'd do this: Wheel spacers, 33s on stock rims, AEV control arm bracket, brakeline extender brackets and then you might want to go with the trac bars..

That would be gracious. But I think that all that information is already pretty easy to come by right here on this forum.

I believe this has all been covered in the FAQ section at the top of the modifed forum.
David at Northridge 4x4 can assit you in getting you the correct missing componets to set up a road and trail worthy lift.

Regarding 3" lift;

Q: What are all the components that I will need with a 3" lift?
A: On a 2007-11 JK, at bare minimum, you should have a set of 3" coils, bump stop extensions, longer shocks, rear brake line extension brackets, new longer rear sway bar links (factory links can be installed up front), adjustable front track bar and rear track bar relocation bracket. Optimally, I would recommend adjustable front upper and lower control arms as well as they will help you set your caster to the appropriate angle it needs to be. Also, if you have a 2-door, adjustable rear upper control arms and a new double cardin U-joint style drive shaft would be highly advisable.

On a 2012-Up, you will want to install a new front drive shaft regardless if you have an automatic or manual transmission. Assuming you install new, longer shocks with your lift, the extra droop you will see at a flex will cause the slip shaft boot on the drive shaft to tear. However, that is just one problem you will encounter. Even if you install exhaust spacers or relocate the cross over, the CV boot at the output shaft will be sitting at a significant state of pinch and this will cause it to fail prematurely.

Right now i have 36000km on my stockers so i go going to run them a little longer. Which gives me some time to decide on what all i need to get before i put the lift in. Then i will be wanting to go to 33's forsure and maybe 35's but that might be out of the price range, with proper BS wheels.

Like i have already have the shocks so would it be worth it to just through some spacers on my coils just to minimize all the other stuff for now until i can get some more money for the complete set of arms and trackbars. I was wanting to get some quick discos anyways for ease of trail trail use.

Thanks already for the information, you have given its great.

Yes, you absolutely have to have all the parts to put your suspension back together. But track bars and control arms aren't "absolutely" necessary to be able to drive your jeep. That being said, I didn't say that it would be a fun ride.
