Default Cheap snorkels on ebay

So I have been looking at snorkels and have found some aev knock off ones for cheap and I'm wondering has anyone on here gotten one and what is the difference is it worth paying all that extra for a name or is there a difference in quality, material, finish anything of that nature please provide feedback. Thank you.

It's only my opinion but there is a reason why I pay for AEV stuff, and if you have ever bought an AEV product I expect you would agree that it is worth what you paid. Knock off's are just that, if they put the effort and materials into making them the same as the original product, they most likely would be charging the same price. Then there is the whole issue of development time and costs. I feel they have the right own the rights on their patents. If you get a chance to take a good look at some of their products you will see how they took the time to think through a design, before just putting it on the market, and I'm sure the same can be said for many other manufacturer's out there.
If you need it to stand up, it might just be worth the investment.
End of rant.

Search, there are several threads about this. You will need to weed through rants of buying a knock off vs the real thing. Bottom line, I have the knock off and have no regrets.

X2 lots of threads on it. Just google it. From what I've read about them, you will go directly to hell if you even consider one. If the snorkel is not the same quality and it fades and looks terrible in a few years by another knock off and your still cheaper than the aev one. Plus you already have the holes cut (very scary cutting your hood up by the way). So if your already friends with the devil and don't mind some people ranting on the forums about how your not American. Go for it. I did.

I don't think it matters.

I have an AEV and there is nothing special about it.

It's molded plastic. I would shy away from knock off Crank bearings and important parts.

China has been making plastic for a long time. I've yet to see anyone compare them side by side. But generally speaking, many of the knock off items are made in the same factory. or thw original come from china anyways.

This is what I always though. It is molded plastic how can they mess it up? Lift springs or engine parts I agree I wouldn't buy a knock off part or even electronics. But it is just molded plastic and if people really wanted to complain about how un-American I am because I bought an imported product I will just agree and tell them I bought it with the money I get for being a disabled veteran because I messed my knee up while serving in the military for this country and I will wait patiently to see how un-American they think I am then.

Buy American is often a farce.

Like buying a John deer tractor. If its a compact tractor. It was made in China. Shipped to America and assembled in America. While a few high paid people made more money off it

If you buy a Chinese or Korean tractor. It was made oversees and assembled and sold in America. Except a small business made a more reasonable profit.

All sort of plastic parts, etc on our vehicles are made overseas anyways.

The same people who bash you for buying a piece of plastic, have no problem going to the grocery store and buying imported food.

I own an AEV one. But the reason they charge more is r+d and having a business in America. The Chinese just purchased an AEV snorkel ad made a direct copy. Or quite possibly make the ones for AEV and are making a clone off their molds
