Default Looking for JK Unlimited Hard Top Side Windows Lift UP module

Now that the season is coming to the end and I am planning to re-install the factory hard top, I have wanted to modify my JK Unlimited hard top side windows. I would like the ability to open them swinging UPWARD with locks, rather than going from the back window.

Has anyone modified their side windows or have any suggestions. I did a company out of TN who is working on a complete replacement hard top, however I thought this would be a fabulous modification.

I am in located in Southern California and a sunroof installer might be an option. What ar your thoughts?

"More practical" would depend on why he wants the windows to open.
If he wants to be able to reach in to drag stuff out, the slider may not open wide enough.

I see you point, the slide might not give enough room but it would be easier to make/install

You could possibly look at copying the design of the rear window. Have someone make the same latch system, latch system, and weatherstripping system.

Idea

How doe one find a shop that can do special cut glass? ? ? ?

I was also thinking of contacting a "sunroof" company...

I want this type of window so that I can PULL equipment thru the open space. I have A Nack Net with gear attached to the webbing, so this concept would be fabulous.

Well I used to do glass work years ago and what you are looking for in glass is tempered glass and it would not be an inexpensive as it can not just be cut at a local shop. You could use laminated glass but it would not be as strong and I would not suggest it for a frameless glass lift gate

Too bad one of the Top manufacturers or aftermarket distributors don't seek this out.

Lot of like as this would be very useful for the Unlimited series.
