Default Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar 285/70/R17 on stock JK 17's?

Looking for advice on running 'Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar 285/70/R17 D' on JK 2DR stock 17" rims. I currently have no lift or suspension mods. I have read that they will rub in some instances, but only really at maximum turning conditions. I am planning to get a 2.5" Teraflex body lift soon after these wheels to avoid this from being an long-term issue. I have heard 1.5" spacer suggested on all wheels to reduce rubbing also.
Any advice or tips would be great!

Wouldn't hurt to try it out. However, I think you will need spacers or new rims. Probably better to go with the rims, spacers are not recommended.

I think you mean you are going to get the TeraFlez 2.5" Spacer lift... Not a 2.5" Body Lift.

Also, get a set of 1.5" wheel spacers. Rough Country has a great set of 4 for $118 shipped to your door.

You should be set then.

Spacer lift and body lift are the same thing.

Springs = suspension lift
Spacers = body lift

Many have both and will say they have '3" suspension, 1" body'...

Coil spacers and Body lift is NOT the same.

Body lifts, lift the tub (body) of the Jeep. A Body Lift Spacer goes at each of the 10 or 12 body mounts.

Coil Spacer lifts, lift the frame, motor, and body of Jeep. A Coil Spacer goes on top of each spring (4).

Coil Spacers are a form of Suspension lift commonly referred to as "Budget Boosts".

x2 on the clarification above....You can run wheel spacers to avoid any rubbing / clearance issues. Quality wheel spacers are just as good / safe as an aftermarket rim with the proper backspacing. You just need to install them correctly, add loctite and torque them to specs....

Coil spacers

Body lift

Interesting, did not know that. Guess I get to correct a few people that I wheel with that they don't have a 'body' lift...

Do many people get actual body lifts? Everyone I know either has a coil or spring spacer lift.

Not many people use Body Lifts, just because the problems associated with going overboard (like everything). After 1", Manuals need an adapter so they don't pop out of 2,4,&6 gears in cold weather. Rough Country sells their adapter and it has pretty good reviews.

If you keep the BL under 2" you'll be in the clear.

Many people also don't like BL because they say it puts your center of gravity higher. Doesn't all lifts do that though? Lol.

But for just $10 more, I like the warranty from the company. If it was $50+, I'd go with eBay all day long. Like snorkels, I'm going ebay snorkel because I can't drop $300+ on one, yet I can swing $165 for an identical piece of plastic.
