rustys 3.25 lift with 33,s?
hi guys i need some help. i have 08 jku. mopar front bumper and grill guard give me 70lb on the front end. i want to install rustys 3.25 basic lift and want to use nitto trail grablers 285by 70 17. nitto list the tire on there site as 33 inches. my question is based on the lift will 33,s LOOK to small or should i run a 35. if anyone has pics can you please post. i can also use the rough country 2.5 lift what are your ideas
That lift will give you almost 4", which will leave a pretty big gap. I run that lift with 35's, and it sits good. I would either go with a 35, or drop down to a 2" to 2 1/2" lift
I run rusty's 2in spring and shock lift I like the ride also run 285 75 16 km2 my wife she fuss now about the lift so will stay with this. Just got back from Colorado went to Euray ran black bear pass that was fun !!!! ran a lot more trails out there spent a week then went to moab and another week of off road trails lots of fun. I like the lift it does all I want to do
Sorry for the parking garage shot. This is a 2" kit on 33s (Rancho Sport System: 2" coils up front with a .75" spacer, .75" spacer in the back on stock coils, and rs9000xl shocks). It rides way better than stock with those shocks despite the slight lift. It actually sits just barely higher in the front (if you can tell in the picture) so your bumper will probably level it off perfectly.
I was running it with stock suspension until a week ago. It was perfectly fine stock. In my opinion if you go 33's I wouldn't go bigger than 2"... anything over that and I feel it might make the tires look a bit small. Just my thoughts though, lots of people love a 2.5" on 33s!

I attached two pics of mine, 33's stock (outside pic) and 33's on 2" (inside pic). Good luck and keep us updated. If I went with 35's I'd go 2.5 or 3".

The Nitto Trail Grappler is offered in 295/70R17. Comes out to 33.5x12. This would be a good compromise between the 35x12.5 and 285/70 R17 (33x11.8) Another Trail Grappler option is 285/75/R17 (34x11.5). I think the 285/70/r17 would look WAY too small w a 3.25in lift IMO.
